Isn't it
funny how adorable little boys always grow up to become even more
adorable young men? Well that's just the case with Chris Knight who plays Peter
on ABC's latest variety show "The Brady Bunch Hour!" He's not the same
"kid" we all knew six years ago!
When "The Brady Bunch" went off the air in 1974, Chris was just 16. He'd been with the show for six years and after its cancellation he decided he'd like to just take it easy- go to school and just be a normal kid again.
"I never considered myself different from everybody else, but I know some people would feel it was difficult to get to know me; because of that, I went out of my way to give everyone plenty of time to know where Peter Brady stopped and Chris Knight started," says Chris!
What has Chris been doing since "Brady Bunch" went off the air? Chris took two years off to "find himself." For one he went to college -U.C.L.A., located in Los Angeles, California. "I lived in a dorm, joined a fraternity...did the whole college thing!" Chris smiled.
After
realizing that four years of college would be too long for him to wait to start
another career, he called his agent up and said should anything come in for him-
say yea - "I'll take it!" A week later his agent received a call from
Sid & Marty Krofft: "Does Chris want to do 'The Brady Bunch Hour'
? they wanted to know. From then on it's history.
Every morning after Chris wakes up he lifts weights! He's a very physically attractive young man and likes to keep himself in the best possible physical shape he can! He contributes to this not only by his weight-lifting, but by riding his dirtbike, water skiing, body surfing and scuba diving. Sometimes all in the same day!
Chris is excited about working again, and it's a real treat to be back with Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Barry, Mike, Susan, Maureen and their newest family member Geri Reischle (sic). Chris admitted that though they all miss Eve Plumb they wish her the best of luck in her career, they get along terrifically with Geri! "She's a really sweet girl," says Chris, "and she has such a good voice!"
They
film the show at KTLA, which isn't too far a drive from Chris' home in
Woodland Hills. He drives to work every day in a pick-up truck that he built a
trailer for by hand! When he's not performing he likes to spend time at home
with his family. He has a younger sister named Lisa, and a younger brother named
David. An older brother Mark is in college.
Chris is a real pet enthusiast, he collects tropical fish, hamsters, mice, rabbits, lizards and snakes! (Snakes?!) Chris goes for girls who are natural and athletic- girls who don't mind running around the block with him or get concerned all the time that their hair is messy or out of place! Could you be that kind of girl? If you think you could, drop Chris a line at Tiger Beat...He'll love to hear from you!
